St Joseph’s College staged a production of Little Shop of Horrors

Students staged a production of Little Shop of Horrors to inaugurate a new lighting system donated because of its record at turning out talented showbiz graduates.

St Joseph’s College, in Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood, has had nearly £80,000 worth of lighting and sound equipment donated by the National Theatre and other companies because ex-students worked in the West End.

Director Peter Cook said: “The show is entirely student-run. A 13-year-old runs the West End standard lighting script, sound, follow spots, back stage management and properties are run by students.

“Three of the lead cast were only 11 years old when the show started. Three sixth form girls have the female lead parts and they look stunning in silver sequined dresses for the second act.”
