Man charged with murder in Croydon stabbing

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death.

Nicholas Jones is to appear in Croydon Magistrates Court today.

Jones, who lives on Oaks Road where the incident took place, was taken into custody after being taken to a South London hospital for treatment for a minor injury before being taken into custody.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 6.16pm on Friday to reports of a man stabbed at a residential address in Croydon.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man, named as Paul McCarroll, aged 45, was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.50pm.
