Anti-vax campaigners demonstrate at plumbing company headquarters against Covid vaccine

By Lizzie May

Anti-vax campaigners went up against a plumbing company during an incident at the firm’s central London base.

A determined group of mega-phone wielding anti-vaxxers congregated at Pimlico Plumbers Lambeth headquarters on March 4, protesting against the company’s support of the vaccination roll out.

The protestors appeared to represent groups ‘Lockdown Sceptics’ and ‘The Light’ newspaper, with a number of them gaining access to main reception by pretending to be customers.

Pimlico staff were subject to loud demonstrations against the vaccine before the security team ushered the campaigners to the street where they continued their action.

Anti-covid crusaders waved leaflets and newspapers claiming to tell ‘the truth’ about the vaccine and referred to conspiracy theories, claiming Bill Gates ‘created the virus in a lab’.

Staff were said to be unnerved at the campaign, including one woman sat in reception for her interview with the recruitment department.

Charlie Mullins OBE, founder and chairman of Pimlico said: “I am all for freedom of speech, but using intimidating tactics to upset my people and smuggling their way into our building is a step too far.

“It’s sad that these young people can’t channel their energies into more productive activities rather than peddling their dangerous lies and undermining the great work being done by scientists, NHS workers and volunteers.

“Pretending that Covid is all ‘an illusion’ as these people tried to do is a threat to public health and safety and must be countered at every opportunity.

“I will continue to voice my support for the various vaccines in order that the maximum number of people get the jab as quickly as possible, so we can get the country back up and running and people can see their friends and family again.”
