Dover Athletic loan for AFC Wimbledon striker

AFC Wimbledon striker Aaron Cosgrave has joined National League club Dover Athletic on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.

The 21-year-old signed for the Dons earlier this week after a successful trial period.

AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that Cosgrave’s loan is a season-long loan, with a recall option in January.

Loans manager Michael Hamilton said: “This is a great opportunity for Aaron to go and showcase his potential with a club and a manager that are as excited about his ability as we are.

“The move has been in the pipeline for a while with Mark [Robinson, head coach] having made it clear that a loan for Aaron was key in him signing for us.

“Aaron showed glimpses of his ability in the game versus Liverpool U23’s and this loan move now provides him with a platform that will challenge and stretch him.

“On a day-to-day basis he will train between the two clubs, and it’s now up to Aaron to grab the opportunity.”
