Watch 30 free films, some powered by bicycle, in New Cross and Deptford festival

New Cross and Deptford Free Film Festival returns for its seventh year, bringing over 30 free film
events to the area.

It kicks off today with an opening party screening of Get Out at the Brick Brewery.

There will also be three outdoor bike-powered screenings over the festival, with the chance to
catch Sing, Nacho Libre and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Other venues are spread across New Cross and Deptford, including Sanford Housing Co-op, the Deptford Lounge, community run Deptford Cinema, Old Tidemill Gardens and New Cross Learning Centre.
Plus enjoy a white Russian at the Black Horse whilst watching the Big Lebowski, In Bruge in local
CAMRA pub the Dog & Bell, or Moonstruck in the Brookmill pub.
Several of the films being shown this year focus on the theme of housing and the home. A series of
short and feature length documentaries explore the catastrophic failures that have led to a chronic
shortage of social housing in Britain and give a platform to people who are fighting for their
communities.

Many of these screenings will be followed by a discussion.
