Referendum to be held for Lewisham residents to vote on the Grove Park Neighbourhood Plan

Lewisham residents will get the chance to have their say in an upcoming referendum.

Lewisham Council will hold a vote on the Neighbourhood Plan for Grove Park on Thursday August 26, 2021.

People who live in the area will be able to vote either in favour or against the proposed neighbourhood plan.

This will affect how the Council will consider planning applications for Grove Park.

Poll cards have been sent to all people on the electoral register in the area.

Anyone living in Grove Park but not yet registered to vote should do so urgently at www.gov.uk/registertovote. The deadline is midnight on Tuesday 10 August.

The question that will be asked in the referendum is:

Do you want the London Borough of Lewisham to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Grove Park to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

The full neighbourhood plan subject to referendum, and a map of the affected area, can be found on the council website at https://www.lewisham.gov.uk/GroveParkNPR

To vote by post, voters should contact Lewisham’s Electoral Services team for a postal vote application form at electoral.services@lewisham.gov.uk and return it by the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 11 August 2021.

To vote by proxy (where you appoint someone to vote on your behalf), voters should contact Electoral Services for a proxy vote application form at electoral.services@lewisham.gov.uk and return it by the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 18 August 2021.
