Devastated leaseholders angry at big developer firms protest at Sky Pool
Leaseholders trapped in unsafe flats because their blocks were built with flammable materials protested at Battersea’s landmark Sky Pool on Saturday.
Tenants and their supporters, also in the group Action for Fire Safety Justice, demonstrated at Nine Elms, to demand developers complicit in the Building Safety Crisis pay to resolve the issues they caused.
They want leaseholders to be reimbursed for the thousands of pounds they have already paid.
Developers with new properties at Nine Elms include Barratt, Bellway, Berkeley, Ballymore – who built the Sky Pool – Taylor Wimpey, all of whom had built developments with fire safety issues.

Some developers have made some contributions to fire safety remediation, but much of it remains unused, and leaseholders have been left footing the bill for thousands of pounds with further bills on the horizon of up to £200,000.
They want homes to be made safe immediately and no more homes built using flammable materials.
