‘If one team deserved the three points, that team was Huddersfield’ – Carlos Corberan’s verdict on win over Millwall

Carlos Corberan felt Huddersfield were good value for their 1-0 win over Millwall today.

Jonathan Hogg’s 82nd-minute winner meant the South London club tasted defeat away from home for the first time since August.

Corberan said: “First of all we arrived at the game after a defeat. It was important to show a reaction. It was a very tough and balanced game, in the first 15 minutes we didn’t put enough intensity in.

“If one team deserved the three points, that team was Huddersfield. For me, the team today created enough chances to score a goal. It is important for us to score goals.

“I am pleased when I see players with that level of commitment, with the level of defensive mentality, because in the Championship this is the moments that can change results of games.

“It was important to compete and win that game, like I said before, it would be a very tough game because when you analyse the opponents you’ll know how they arrived today to the game.

“There is no coincidence that they have won four of their last five games. For me, the Championship is one of the most demanding football competitions.”
