Do you care to claim your van?

A Ford Transit van met a sorry end after it was seized by town hall chiefs for fly-tipping.

The white panel van was crushed following an operation by Bexley council and the police, investigating fly-tipping in Ray Lamb Way, Slade Green.

Cabinet member for places, Councillor Peter Craske, said: “The message in Bexley is clear – if you are identified fly-tipping from a vehicle or there is evidence to show that your vehicle is involved, the council will seize it and, if necessary, crush it.

“We’ll come down hard on fly-tippers.” The owner of the vehicle has yet to come forward to claim the vehicle and is still wanted for questioning in relation to fly-tipping.

The vehicle registration was EO05 ONC. Fly-tipping is a criminal offence and those found guilty can face fines of up to £50,000 and a prison sentence.

If you have information about the van contact Bexley Street Scene Services on 020 3045 4612 or email areateamsupport@bexley.gov.uk.
