Marc Guehi insists confidence still high in Crystal Palace camp as they head into Everton test
Marc Guehi has insisted that Crystal Palace will go into their Premier League clash against Everton “with a lot of confidence.”
The Eagles are winless from their last four games – losing the last three on the bounce and failing to score in their past two outings against Leeds United and Manchester United.
Everton leapfrogged the South Londoners in the Premier League table on Monday night after they secured a 2-1 win against Arsenal, which ended a run of eight games without a win for Rafa Benitez’s side.
Guehi joined Palace in the summer from European Champions Chelsea for a fee in the region of £18million and has started every game this season under Patrick Vieira.
“We understand that they’re going to come in with high spirits after their win, but we’re going into the game with the belief that we can get a result from this game,” Guehi told PLP.
When asked what dangers Everton could pose to Palace on Sunday, Guehi added: “Many areas. Just like other teams, they have got a set-piece threat, and they have got fantastic players such as Richarlison and Andros Townsend, who is coming back.
“We are very aware of what they can offer, but we have also got good players ourselves, and we will be going into that game with a lot of confidence.
“In the team, there is so much spirit and confidence in what we have done before and earlier on in the season that we just have to take it into this game.”
