Man charged with attempted murder after horrific knife attack in Greenwich that left victim with life changing injuries

Detectives investigating a double stabbing in Greenwich – which left one man critically injured – are renewing their appeals for information.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Hevelius Close, at  around 6pm on Monday, September 17.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

Two men aged in their thirties were found suffering from stab wounds.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition and is believed to have sustained life changing injuries. His condition is no longer life-threatening.

The 31-year-old man’s injuries were deemed non-life threatening or life changing.

As part of this investigation, a 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and GBH. A further five men have been arrested as follows.

18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH with intent
18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH with intent
26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH with intent
14-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH with intent
25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of two counts of GBH with intent

All five have been released under investigation.

Detectives from Greenwich CID continue to investigate.

DC Toks Jegede, who is leading the investigation, said: “Although we have made significant progress with the investigation, I still believe a number of suspects remain outstanding.

“This type of violence will not be tolerated and I urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
