‘Something different’ – Dons boss on loan capture of Forest Green midfielder
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson believes that new loan signing Armani Little will bring “something different” to his side.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Dons from League One side Forest Green Rovers on loan for the rest of the season.
Little joined Forest Green in the summer after he scored 15 goals and recorded 10 assists last season for Torquay United in the National League.
Despite making 25 appearances in all competitions since making the switch to The New Lawn Stadium in the summer, Little has not started a game for Ian Burchnall’s side in the league since the 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth in late October.
“He’s one we have been looking at for a while,” Jackson admitted to the South London Press. “Even when he was at Torquay in the National League, he was attracting a lot of interest.
“He is one we had been monitoring. He had been in and out of the side at Forest Green, so we thought there might be a chance to do something.
“I’m really pleased to have him. He’s a really exciting, young-ish midfield player who has plenty of experience now.
“He’s got a bit of everything. He can get on the ball and make things happen, but he wants to get forward as well and score a goal.
“He can press from the front and bring us a lot of energy – he’s something a little bit different to what we have in that area of the pitch.”
The Dons have also signed Bristol City winger Sam Pearson and Wycombe forward Ali Al-Hamadi this January.
