Palace ‘in talks’ to sign Stuttgart midfielder

Crystal Palace are reportedly in talks with German side Stuttgart to sign midfielder Naouirou Ahamada, according to the Athletic.

The 20-year-old French U18 international has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season for the Bundesliga side.

Marseille-born Ahamada progressed through Juventus’ academy, with Stuttgart initially signing the midfielder on a six-month loan spell.

The Reds signed Ahamada on a permanent deal at the end of the loan deal in the summer. 

Patrick Vieira currently has midfield options in the shape of Luka Milivojevic, Cheick Doucoure, Jeffrey Schlupp, Jairo Reidewald and Will Hughes. David Ozoh, 17, made his debut for the club in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle on the weekend.

Speaking at the start of the window, Vieira said: I believe that the squad and the team need experience.

“We need different characteristics as well. We want to improve the squad. I hope we will find those players and make it happen.”
