QPR boss delivers positive injury news ahead of Watford

QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth has revealed that Lydon Dykes has been training on the grass this week ahead of Watford’s visit to Loftus Road tomorrow.

The west Londoners have been without the Scottish forward since the 1-1 draw with Swansea back in January, having since suffered and recovered from pneumonia.

Dykes has six goals and one assist in the Championship this season.

Former Wycombe boss Ainsworth was without Ilias Chair, Ethan Laird, Kenneth Paal and Jake Clarke-Salter for the 3-1 defeat at Rotherham last weekend.

“He’s been on the grass this week – which is great,” Ainsworth told QPR’s YouTube channel of Dykes.

“Somebody like Lyndon Dykes back in the team will boost everything.

“He has got to be clinically right before we unleash him, because that’s what we will do – he’s that good.

“We’re slowly looking forward to the international break coming, because, after that, we will be seriously strong.

“We will have these household names back. These next three games – two of them next week especially – are looking like real big games for us.

“We want to make sure that we get the players who are available playing as well as they can.

“I know that whoever I pick is good enough to win in the Championship.”
