Cause of fire that left man in hospital still under investigation
The cause of a fire that left a man in hospital is still under investigation.
Around 20 other people managed to escape the blaze before emergency services arrived.
Five fire engines and around 30 firefighters were needed to tackle the fire at a flat in Shepherd’s Bush Green in Shepherd’s Bush on Saturday.
The fire damaged most of a flat on the fourth floor of the six-storey building.
One man was treated by firefighters before being taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to work safely.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at around 10.15am and the fire was under control by 11.30am.
Fire engines from Kensington, North Kensington, Fulham, Acton and Paddington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the LFB and the Met.
