‘Bes has Millwall DNA’ – Bromley boss Woodman predicts bright future for versatile defender

Bromley boss Andy Woodman has predicted a ‘bright future’ in football for versatile Besart Topalloj.

The 22-year-old, who can operate as a centre-back or as a left-midfielder in a back five, joined the Ravens permanently from Millwall in the winter window after initially signing at Hayes Lane on a 28-day loan.

Topalloj has made 26 appearances under former Newcastle and Crystal Palace goalkeeping coach Woodman this season, scoring twice as Bromley bowed out of the National League play-offs at the semi-final stage to Chesterfield.

“Bes has been great,” Woodman told the South London Press.

“Any player who comes from Millwall has a certain DNA anyway. You know they’re going to be hard grafting, you know they will be drilled properly, and they have had a good football upbringing.

“I have to thank Scott Fitzgerald at Millwall – a friend of mine and someone I have played with. He told me about Bes and Alex Mitchell. The players we have had out of Millwall have been excellent.

“Bes is a really good player – a good, solid boy. He is another one who will have a very bright future in football.”
