The Royal College of Art showcases themes of identity and gender

The Royal College of Art (RCA) has announced a special, large-scale exhibition, showcasing some of its most talented alumni.

Drawing on a selection of some of the MA painting programme’s most notable talents such as Chantal Joffe winner of “the most distinguished work” in the Summer Exhibition at Royal Academy in 2006, and Turner prize winning Chris Ofili.

The exhibition will also bring to the fore talented recent graduates such as Miya Jazmin Browne and Ken Nwadiogbu.

The exhibition which will take place at the RCA Battersea Campus today and tomorrow will “explore themes such as identity and gender through abstraction and representation.”

The RCA MA Painting is a studio-based MA programme with world-leading status and staffed by tutors who are accomplished artists in their own right bringing a creative, and critical eye.

The programme is known for drawing on a wealth of diverse historical, material and conceptual disciplinary resources as it thrives in the 21st century.

The RCA takes pride in its collection of more 1,700 paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture, with some pieces dating back as far as the 1920s.

The exhibition will take place at The Hangar, Royal College of Art Battersea campus in Parkgate Road.
