London’s largest open-air rooftop venue to open in Brixton
Next month Brixton will become home to the capital’s largest rooftop bar.
Freight Brixton will open in Brixton Village Market on July 5, along with a programme packed with events.
Throughout summer the new 1,000 capacity venue will play host to DJs, emerging artists, award winning chefs and wine makers to offer everything from live performances and DJ sets to themed brunches, football screenings and jazz nights.
Ready for the summer opening, Freight Brixton will welcome an open-grill and BBQ curated by Dublin born chef, Robin Gill.
Next up at the rooftop residencies is another Irish chef, Paul Asher – otherwise known as Rice Paddy for his Northern Thai inspired cooking.
Following close behind, Breddos Tacos will join Freight Brixton to bring their creative take on traditional Mexican cuisine.
Also championing the local foodies, Freight Brixton will celebrate Brixton’s culinary scene, offering a platform for food vendors from the area.
Welcoming the warm weather and longer days, the new venue is set to house two open-air cocktail bars, Hotel Campari and the House of Friends Tequila Bar, alongside South London’s very own Brixton Brewery serving their award winning locally crafted beers.
A spokeswoman from Freight Brixton said: “Beyond an entertainment venue, Freight Brixton will be a celebration of community.
“Committed to honouring the vibrant spirit of Brixton, the team are extending a warm invitation to local initiatives, from dance classes to youth charities, and anything in between. “
