Witnesses sought after man bottles cops in Westminster
British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses to come forward after two police officers were assaulted by a man.
The incident took place at around 6pm on March 18, when the two cops approached a man who was “acting aggressively” and waving an empty alcohol bottle near Buckingham Palace Road, Westminster.
As the police officers tried to get the man to drop the bottle, he raised it, hitting one officer on the arm, causing a wound. The altercation also left the other officer with a wound to the side of their face.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.
A BTP spokesman said: “Did you witness the incident, or do you have any information which could help the investigation?”
