One man stabbed to death and one being treated for knife wounds as police impose Section 60 clampdown after blood letting in Myatt’s Field in Brixton
The Met has imposed a Section 60 clampdown in Lambeth after one man was killed and one is in hospital with stab wounds after fighting in Myatt’s Field Estate in Brixton.
A murder investigation is underway after one man was rushed to hospital after being found in Wynne Road. He died if his injuries there at 8.53pm.
Police had been called at approximately 5.55pm this evening, Thursday, 20 August to reports of a fight in Overton Road, on the estate.
Officers, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the scene.
One man – believed aged in his 20s – was found suffering stab injuries in Overton Road. He was taken to hospital where he remains; his condition is not life threatening.
The dead man – believed aged in his 20s – was also found suffering stab injuries in Wynne Road and later died in hospital.
Enquiries are still underway to locate and inform his next of kin.
An overturned car was found in nearby Marcella Road, and is being linked to this incident.
Crime scenes remain in place.
A section 60 has been put in place covering the postcode areas of SW9, SW4, SW8, SE11 and SE5 – this expires at 9am on Friday, 21 August.
