Children and adults taken to hospital after car mounts pavement and hits bystanders outside Beatrix Potter Primary School in Earlsfield

A number of children and adults have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside a Wandsworth primary school.

Police were called shortly after 3pm yesterday to Beatrix Potter Primary School in Openview, Earlsfield, following reports that a car had mounted the pavement and collided with a number of children and adults.

All those injured were taken to hospital. Two of those injured are believed to have serious injuries. Both are children, one suffered a leg injury and the other a head injury.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A tree and roadside furniture were also struck during the incident.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and neither they, nor the two children also in the car, were injured.

Local road closures are in place while emergency services deal.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Serious Collison Investigation Unit.
