‘Don’t write us off’ – Alex Woodyard tells those already sending AFC Wimbledon down. Alex Woodyard has opened up on the “tough” season AFC Wimbledon have experienced but believes that the squad have demonstrated that they have the fight to survive the drop from League One.

AFC Wimbledon midfielder Alex Woodyard has provided an update on his contract situation.

Wimbledon are without a win in their previous 24 games in all competitions but have picked up draws from the last two outings against Charlton Athletic and Milton Keynes.

Wimbledon play Crewe, Wycombe, Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley in the final four games of the League One season.

The academy graduate was forced off in the second half against Milton Keynes on the weekend.

Woodyard, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has only missed six minutes of League One football this season when he has started the game.

AFC Wimbledon manager Mark Bowen has admitted that he could see himself staying beyond the end of the season.

The Dons find themselves 22nd in the table, without a win in their last 23 games in all competitions, and four points from safety heading into the final five matches of the season.

Charlton went down to 10 men in the encounter in the 56th minute when substitute Ryan Inniss was sent off for a horror challenge just seven minutes after replacing Sam Lavelle in the second half.
