Police on the hunt for men who stamped on man two weeks before he died
Police are on the lookout for a group of men who stamped on and beat a 40-year-old man who died two weeks later – although the cause of death is still unclear. Detectives investigating the assault in London Road, Croydon, have released CCTV and images of four men they want to speak to in connection with the incident which took place around 1.30am on July 1.

A police officer has been shot and killed by a man at a police custody centre in Croydon. At around 2.15am this morning the officer was shot by a man who was being detained at Croydon Custody Centre, in Windmill Lane. Officers and paramedics treated him at the scene and he was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service but he died later in hospital.
