Camberwell artist’s NFT artwork auctioned for charity

An artist from Camberwell has created an NFT artwork, which was auctioned to raise money for charity.

Polly Morgan’s artwork was created to commemorate the summer after Covid restrictions had been eased and was displayed at the Saatchi Gallery.

Talking about the inspiration behind her piece, and her first ever NFT, Ms Morgan said: “I had already been keen to create an animation, akin to my recent works, in the NFT format when Hendricks approached me.

“My sculptures of snakes moulded to cast polystyrene forms alluded to Covid, lockdowns and the disparities we experienced relative to health, wealth and our domestic arrangements.

“As one of the lucky ones, it felt fitting for my first NFT auction to benefit others.”

The piece was auctioned as an NFT to raise funds for the Saatchi Gallery Learning – a charity which aims to reveal the possibilities of artistic expression to young minds with a programme of workshops and activities.
