Croydon film-maker launches campaign to fund drama series pilot about impact of absent fathers
A film-maker from Croydon has launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce a pilot episode of a drama series about the negative impact of absent fathers.
Serge Mirindi, 32, hopes to raise £6,500 to start filming the project, called Saving Malik.
The drama tells the story of one man who sets about ending the ongoing cycle of young men growing up without the mentorship of a father.
Mr Mirindi says he was inspired to write the drama after his brother became a victim of knife crime in 2016.
He says: “This project is dear to my heart as I was also raised without a father. I intend to share this story of redemption, forgiveness and hope to encourage and remind them to always see the value in themselves no matter the circumstances.”

Every one knows, the is a lot impact on children behaviour / progression on young children especially boys when there is an absence of a father in the a family. Boys went to discover by themselves some experiences outside, then they will end to gangsters, wich will lead them to prison.
