Kindred Uncovered Residency: Five female artists announced

Kindred – an ex-private members club turned community space – has launched the Kindred Uncovered Residency, a women-only programme to support rising artists and musicians living in London.

Five budding young London artists have been selected from more than 200 applicants to begin a 12-month free mentoring residency at the venue in Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, this May.

The five chosen artists include Hammersmith resident and R&B artist Kristie Killick, pop artists Jodie Knight and Lucy DK, both from Lewisham, R&B artist Vicky Trantou from Harrow and R&B singer Crissy Day from Wandsworth.

The first Kindred Uncovered live music night, headlined by Kristie Killick, will take place May 23.

Throughout the year each artist will receive mentoring from industry  Professionals including  Ife Awosika, head of music at entertainment provider Dice, VeVo artist relations manager Jodeci Chin, Notion Magazine’s managing director Nicholas Douglas, and 16 more experts in their field.

Each Uncovered Residency artist will receive unlimited access to Kindred’s coworking space, 20 per cent off food and free access to Kindred’s cultural events programme.

The artists will also receive the chance to network at events and receive feedback on their live performances which will culminate in an end-of-year residency showcase live on Kindred’s stage.
