Streatham Festival set for go-ahead
Streatham Festival A festival set to take place this weekend will feature online events for the first time as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Streatham Festival 2020, which starts today until October 18, will have virtual events, as well as a range of physical ones, celebrating all aspects of the arts.
The Streatham Festival organisers are now calling on Streathamites and Londoners to visit the festival website and book tickets and register for some of the many events and activities.
The local MP for Streatham, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, will be officially opening the festival at the Romantic Cello by Candlelight in St Thomas’ Church, Telford Avenue.
The festival has a jam-packed line-up including Streatham Literature Festival; Streatham Space Project – a day of workshops, readings and discussions followed by spoken word, music, and poetry; STREATART20 – a platform to showcase local artists; Streatham Strut – a virtual concert; and Streatham Lockdown Diaries.
Jo Blawat, chairwoman of Streatham Festival, said: “The Streatham Festival is needed now more than ever to help support the creative and artistic community and to bring something positive to Streatham and the wider south London area.
“We have a brilliant, jam-packed line-up of events so join us in October and help celebrate the arts in Streatham.”
