Follies opens at the Churchill Theatre today

The West Wickham Operatic Society is putting on this theatrical event, having just enjoyed a sell-out run at The National Theatre earlier this year. In Follies, the time is 1971. At a reunion hosted in a crumbling theatre, a parade of ex-showgirls take to the stage one last time, accompanied by the ghosts of their former selves.

This sets the stage for a parade of brilliant 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s pastiche numbers featuring some of Stephen Sondheim’s best-known songs.
