Hip-hop family musical Pied Piper playing at the Battersea Art Centre

Pied Piper is a brand new hip-hop family musical.

Battersea Art Centre’s Beatbox Academy will perform the world premiere of Pied Piper, written and directed by Conrad Murray, at Battersea Art Centre in Lavender Hill, Battersea, on October 24.

The show is a one-of-a-kind reimagining of a mediaeval fairy-tale but with a twist – the cast is made up of beatboxers, musicians and special guest performances.

It’s the eve of the mayoral election, and the kids of Hamelin aren’t happy.

The mayor and owner of the local pie factory has imposed a music ban, and to make matters worse, there’s a serious rat problem.

But, there have been whispers of a mysterious rat catcher in town, sometimes he plays a pipe, sometimes a microphone.

Can this curious stranger help Hamelin to find its voice once more? Mr Murray set up the academy 15 years ago and saw huge success with their award-winning show and BBC documentary Frankenstein: How to Make a Monster.

Pied Piper will run from October 24 until October 28 at the Arts Centre in Lavender Hill, Battersea, head to the Battersea Arts Centre website: www.bac.org.uk for tickets.
