Legend of the Titanic revealed in high-tech exhibition

This summer a high-tech immersive exhibition will offer history obsessed Londoners the perfect two hours of distraction.

The Legend of TITANIC: The Immersive Exhibition will open at London’s Dock X, Canada Water, on July 25.

Promising an augmented reality recreation of Southampton harbour, actual recreations of first and third class cabins and original and replica artefacts, the exhibition will track the story of the doomed ship across the Atlantic whilst exploring the grand cabins and elegant corridors of Britain’s most famous ocean liner.

To truly immerse audiences there will also be a VR tribute to the ship’s famously determined orchestra, a film charting the ship’s voyage and a 5D metaverse featuring smells, sounds and a realistic reconstruction of the different classes and areas of the ship.

Upon arrival at the venue, visitors will enter Dockside Boarding, receive their boarding passes and gather for a virtual greeting from Captain Smith himself.

Walking along the pier, the sounds of seagulls and steam engines fill the room, setting the tone as guests prepare to board the iconic ship.

As the exhibition progresses, visitors will walk through the humble third-class corridors before entering the main hall and a first-class lounge kitted out with a selection of original and recreated artefacts.

A huge immersive showroom with 360° floor-to-ceiling projections will then submerge audiences in the depths of the Titanic.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the projections provide an unprecedented perspective on the Titanic’s tragic sinking on the night of April 14, 1912.

As guests leave the immersive showroom, they will come across information panels with information about the ship, its passengers, the myths, legends and details on survivors and deceased, all written by exhibition curators and historians.

Designed for all ages, families can enjoy a child-friendly activity room where kids can draw their own Titanic illustrations at a creative station and play an interactive puzzle quiz based on the events leading to the ship’s fate.

Completed drawings are digitally projected onto a large screen, becoming part of the exhibition. Visitors can also use advanced AI and facial recognition technology to transform into 1912-era passengers, virtually dressed in historically accurate attire for a memorable, personal connection to the experience.

After exploring, visitors can unwind at the elegant Café de Parisien, inspired by the original onboard café, offering tea and pastries.

Offering more than 3,000 square meters of industrial-style space, Canada Water’s Dock X is purpose-built for large-scale events like these.

The Legend of TITANIC follows a successful sister exhibition from organisers FKP Scorpio Entertainment, Tutankhamun, devoted to the Egyptian afterlife which launched in Madrid and Munich.
