London-based artist launches immersive installation in Greenwich
A multidisciplinary artist has unveiled a large immersive installation in Greenwich.
The artwork features a series of playful experiences – including hopscotch made from reclaimed car tyres and a crazy golf course.
Yinka Ilori is a London-based artist of a British-Nigerian heritage, who specialises in storytelling by fusing his British and Nigerian heritage to tell new stories in contemporary design.
Mr Ilori unveiled his immersive installation Promise me memories and I will let you in in Tide Square in Greenwich Peninsula on June 12.
The focal point of the installation is a vibrant stage and festival quarter that will host a varied programme of outdoor performances.
In celebration of the launch weekend, the series, titled Summer Sessions, opened with jazz performances from Tomorrow’s Warriors, a collective of jazz musicians driving opportunity and diversity within the industry and Clonmell Jazz Social.
The immersive installation is part of an ongoing programme of free experiences on the Peninsula
