400 litres of gin spilled as garden shed used as distillery catches fire
Around 400 litres part-distilled gin was spilled as a shed that was being used as a distillery was destroyed in a fire.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a shed fire on Wiseton Road in Balham earlier today.
Most of a shed in the garden of a mid-terraced house used as a home distillery was damaged by fire.
The spilled gin was contained to a court yard at the home. There were no reports of any injuries.
The London Fire Brigade was called at around 11.50am by around 1.10pm.
Fire crews from Tooting, Clapham, Wandsworth and Battersea fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
