A mix of world flavours and musical fun at the Elephant that sounds hard to resist

Residents and those from neighbouring boroughs are being invited to go to Castle Square in Elephant and Castle tomorrow from 11am-4pm to enjoy the Big Lunch event with friends and family.

Perfect for the whole family, you can take part in artistic workshops, enjoy music from groups and fuel your weekend with multicultural food dishes.

Admission is free.

Guests can either bring their own picnics or support traders and purchase lunch. Castle Square residents Coma Y Beba, Daddy O’s, El Guambra, Kaieteur Kitchen and Original Caribbean Spice will all be serving up their signature dishes.

There will be free activities and workshops for everyone to get involved in.  Performing pop covers and classics the Babel Brass band will also be entertaining guests, and visitors can also enjoy free face painting all day.

IVY Studios will lead guests through creative workshops to design artwork pieces using the theme Cultural Mosaic. The workshops will guide the community to create art pieces that will be scanned and stitched together to create a tapestry.

The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours and communities, with millions of people coming together for a few hours of friendship, food and fun.
