Five men injured in stabbing and shotgun shooting frenzy

Five men in their 20s suffered a mixture of shooting and stabbing injuries last Saturday.

Yesterday, the Met put out an appeal for any witnesses to a disturbance close to Wandsworth Road, during which a shotgun was discharged.

The Met said they were called at around 3.30am on June 18 after five men – aged in their 20s – arrived at two South London hospitals with gunshot and knife injuries.

All five men are believed to have been injured at the scene in Wandsworth Road.

One of the victims, 20, remains in hospital with gunshot and knife injuries.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

Detective Constable  Matthew Moss from Specialist Crime said: “Five people have been injured by the discharge of a firearm in a public place. One of those injured was very badly hurt and his injuries are likely have a permanent impact on his life.”

“We need the public’s help to stop this wanton violence and I am asking anyone with information, in particular camera images, to call the police.

“If you do not wish to speak with police, and to want to stay completely anonymous, contact the charity Crimestoppers. They will never ask your name, they cannot trace your call, your IP address or the device you use.”

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or 020 8247 4863 or contact via Twitter @MetCC. Quote CAD 1192/18Jun.
