Giant advent calendar back in Nine Elms
A giant advent calendar has returned to Nine Elms.
A total of 24 illuminated windows, each designed by a local artist or community organisation to create the Advent Calendar Trail 2020, have been adapted to ensure the windows can be enjoyed in Covid-safe ways – both online and on site.
Many of the artists who created the advent calendar in 2019 have returned to take part again this year – and some new creatives have joined the team.
The theme of this year’s project is ‘Light in the Darkness’ to light up the area and the hearts of the whole community – this winter more than ever, it’s important to bring people together. Christmas is definitely not cancelled in Nine Elms.
To take part:
- Visit the windows – Follow the map to explore several routes around the Trail
- Watch online as each window is unveiled
- Share your photos/videos of the windows – prizes will be awarded!
- Join the conversation with #NineElmsAdvent
- Decorate your window with lights – free pack of ideas, templates and activities for creating your own illuminated window, have been created by the artists
