Just Stop Oil protesters block traffic in South London
Just Stop Oil protesters caused havoc in South London this morning by slow walking in the middle of a main street.
At around 8:45 am, 28 Just Stop Oil supporters began marching from Newington Causeway, near Elephant and Castle, towards the Inner London Crown Court, where another demonstration was taking place.
Police issued a Public Order Act (Section 12) notice by around 9.45am, forcing the supporters off the road.
Just Stop Oil supporters have been marching in the capital, every day since the 24th of April. They are demanding an end to all new oil, gas and coal projects in the UK.
The climate protesters said they marched to the court in Newington Causeway today in solidarity with members of Insulate Britain, who disrupted major motorways last year demanding the government insulate British homes, as their public nuisance trial continues.
