Man charged with stealing Ferrari after police chase
A stolen Ferrari has been recovered by police investigating an organised car theft gang.
On Tuesday morning police received a report that a Ferrari had been stolen from outside a property in Delaware Road, Westminster.
On the same day, at around 11.15pm, officers saw a Ferrari matching the description of the stolen car in Westbourne Park Road, Westminster.
When they approached the Ferrari, the driver – a 33-year-old man – fled from the car.
Officers chased him on foot and arrested him on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
He was also arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and possession of a knife.
The man has since been charged with all of these offences.
Detective Chief Inspector Dean Purvis, said: “This is a good example of local officers from Westminster working hand-in-glove with the Met’s specialist units to identify and locate those we believe are involved in vehicle thefts.
