Man dies after shots fired in Kensington

A man has died after armed police stopped a vehicle in West London on Saturday.

At around 3pm on Saturday, December 11, a man with a firearm was seen entering a bank and bookmakers in Marloes Road. 

The man was then seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. 

Around fifteen minutes later, armed police stopped a vehicle at the junction of Kensington Road and Palace Gate. 

Shots were fired and a man sustained gunshot wounds. 

The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance were called and the man was treated at the scene. 

He was pronounced dead at around 4pm. 

Police are trying to confirm the man’s identity and to inform his next of kin. 

The incident is not being treated as terrorism.
