Man held on suspicion of encouraging terrorist in South London

Police are searching a South London address after arresting a 31-year-old man on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism, contrary to section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The man was arrested at 12.25pm today, Wednesday, 17 June, by detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

He was taken into custody to a South London police station where he has been detained.
