Man in 40s dies after being struck by a cab

A man in his 40s has died after being hit by a private hire car in Westminster.

Police officers were called to Harrow Road, near Royal Oak tube station, shortly after 10.30pm on Wednesday and found a 44-year-old man seriously injured.

Despite the efforts of emergency services at the scene, he died a short time later.

The driver of the car, a white Toyota Prius private hire vehicle, stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and the mans next of kin have been informed.
