Man in his 20s dies of gunshot wound after shooting in Brixton

A man in his 20s has died after being admitted to a South London hospital with a gunshot wound.

It is believed the man was injured following a shooting in the area of Belinda Road, Brixton, just after 6am.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

The man was admitted to hospital at around 6:30am but despite the efforts of emergency services, he died later this afternoon.

A crime scene remains in place.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Additional officers will be patrolling in and around the area and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them.
