Man left with head injuries after unprovoked attack in Croydon
A man in his 30s was left unconscious with head injuries following an unprovoked assault late at night in Croydon town centre.
The victim and his girlfriend were travelling home on October 31, 2020, when they were attacked by a group of men at around 10pm.
On their way to the bus stop, the group of four men approached the couple and verbally threatened them before attacking them on North End, Croydon.
The victim was punched in the head and body and the victim’s girlfriend was grabbed by the hair and thrown to the floor after trying to stop the attack.
As the four suspects began to leave, the male victim shouted at one of the suspects to which he retaliated by picking the man up and throwing him on his head to the ground.
The male victim subsequently lost consciousness and suffered fractures to the back of his head.
Assisted by passers-by, the police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called and the victim was taken to hospital where he was later discharged following treatment.
