A mental health worker has had a unique award created and given to him for his dedication during the pandemic.
Warren Dunkley, pictured above, is a Care Co-ordinator for Oxleas NHS Trust and part of the Bromley Community Mental Health Rehab team.
The award was given to him by Ambient, one of the organisations he works with to help those with disabilities.
He is a qualified occupational therapist, and helps people of all ages work towards improving both mental and physical wellness.
Warren was presented with his award this week, which included an engraving thanking him for going ‘Above and Beyond’.
Donve Thompson-Boy, manager at Oxleas NHS Trust Foundation, said: “It’s people like Warren that really make a difference to people’s lives, and we are delighted that he has received the recognition he deserves.
“We are incredibly proud to hear how Warren’s innovative and proactive manner has helped service users at Ambient during this difficult time.”
He added: “Warren quickly recognised how the loss of structured activities would negatively impact service users’ mental health, so he initiated a series of activities using the outdoor space, which have been greatly welcomed by service users during a challenging time when they are feeling isolated.
Locality manager for Ambient’s mental health services in Bromley, Sarah Hearne, says Warren is highly regarded by both staff and those they support.
She said: “Lockdown has been an extremely challenging time for those we support, and Warren’s unwavering enthusiasm for his role and desire to help others has been outstanding.”
