More cases of coronavirus in Hammersmith and Fulham

Another 39 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Hammersmith and Fulham following the latest round of test results.

The highest number was recorded in people in their 20s, with 15 people testing positive from this age group.

This reflects the national picture, where younger people are getting the virus.

There are 33,642 residents in their 20s in the borough according to council statistics.

There were nine cases of people in their 30s, with five of those in their 40s and another four of those in their 50s.

Just two cases were diagnosed in people in their 70s and only one person in their 80s tested positive for the virus.

The tests were conducted between September 9 and 15.

Residents at Hammersmith and Fulham care homes are getting monthly tests, whilst staff are tested weekly.

And amongst school-aged children, there were just three cases diagnosed.
