Shark fins spotted in Thames

Three enormous shark fins appeared on the River Thames this morning, stopping commuters in their tracks and signaling the upcoming arrival of The Meg 2: The Trench, in cinemas on Friday.

Sightings of the giant Megalodon fins swimming down the river and circling boats between Butler’s Wharf and Tower Bridge were reported by Londoners.

The spectacular creations were soon revealed to be Warner Bros pictures promoting the exciting summer big screen release.

The three massive, hand-sculpted fins and back sections were crafted in the style of the film franchise’s iconic Megalodon sharks, with the biggest fin in the river standing at a jaw-dropping 4.5m above water, their body sections spanning over 20 metres in length.

Directed by Ben Wheatley and starring Jason Statham, Wu Jing, Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mancheta, Skyler Samuels, Sienna Guillory and Cliff Curtis, Meg 2: The Trench follows a daring research team on an exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean.

Their voyage spirals into chaos and pitted against colossal Megs, the heroes must outrun, outsmart, and outswim their merciless predators in a pulse pounding race against time.
