Ska legend Neville Staple entertains thousands at the Phoenix Festival
Ska legend and The Specials frontman Neville Staple entertained thousands of revellers as the only resident-led housing association in London celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Almost 3,500 people poured into Forster Memorial Park in Bellingham for the Phoenix Festival on Sunday, July 22.
The festival is organised by Phoenix Community Housing. Amy True, The New York Brass band, Sienna, tribute band the Spice Girlz and young people from Phoenix’s Young Makers Agency played before Neville Staple took to the main stage.
Phoenix chief executive Jim Ripley said: “What an amazing birthday party we shared on Sunday.
“It was relaxed, friendly and community oriented, and emphasised great community spirit, cohesion, and diversity.”
