St George’s hospital staff given sandwiches by Aldi supermarket

Front line NHS staff are getting sandwiches from a supermarket as a thank-you for their work.

Aldi, in conjunction with its food-to-go supplier Greencore, delivered a selection of Aldi sandwiches to St George’s Hospital on May 11, to help fuel their hard-working team for the afternoon.

Aldi has donated hundreds of sandwiches to 10 different hospitals across the UK.

Molly Simpson, from St George’s Hospital Charity, said: “Staff at St George’s Hospital are working around the clock and so the gesture of donating sandwiches to the team is really appreciated.”

  • I am an ambulance driver at Dartford, Darenth Valley hospital, The volunteers wait by the main entrance,
Wherupon all donations are whisked away to a few selected nurses, and they will not share with us Ambulance staff, yet we deal with Covid patients on a daily basis.

    Disgruntled Ambulance driver.
