Two teens due at Old Bailey to face murder charges over death of Kalabe
Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of Kalabe Legesse in Peckham Rye.
Nah’shun Thomas, 19, of Bournemouth Road, Peckham, and a 16-year-old – who cannot be named for legal reasons – were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday.
They appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where they were remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.
Kalabe, 29, was found with a stab wound after police were called at around 8.30pm on December 30 to Peckham Rye Park and Common. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.
A post-mortem held on December 31 found the cause of death to be a haemorrhage and a stab wound to the heart.
His next of kin have been informed of the arrests and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information about what happened, is asked to call 101 with the reference 6165/30DEC22.
