Charities in for chance to win £1,000 of funding

By Melissa Kasule

Two charities are among hundreds in the country who might receive £1,000 worth of funding if voted by residents.

The Compassionate Friends in Deptford, and Wandsworth Carers’ Centre in Wandsworth, could be up for a chance to win a big sum of money for The Movement For Good Awards campaign.

The Compassionate Friends work to support families and parents bereaved of a child.

Wandsworth Carers’ Centre provides support to unpaid carers in Wandsworth.

The two charities were last year’s winners and residents’ favourites out of the hundreds nominated across the UK.

Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has returned with the campaign where residents are encouraged to nominate a charity close to their hearts for the potential award of £1,000.

The 500 winning charities will be randomly drawn from those nominated. Voting is open until May 24 here.
