AFC Wimbledon boss outlines a key area to work on during international break

Mark Robinson plans to help his AFC Wimbledon side begin to play without fear again over the international break.

The Dons have slipped down to 17th in the League One table, only picking up one win in their last six league games.

Robinson’s side did pick up two draws in that period, coming back from losing positions against Sheffield Wednesday and Burton Albion.

Speaking to the South London Press about his plans for the side during the international break, Robinson said: “The biggest thing is making sure that we’re all on the same page and taking that fear away of doing what we want to do.

“It’s not just in terms of how we want to play, but in terms of the final third, if you’re playing with fear, then it’s not going to come together. It’s more about getting everyone in-line and making them realise that this isn’t even a blip – it’s just a little dip in performance.

“Our current form is the same as Sunderland’s, so it’s not a panic thing – it’s just making them realise it’s part of the journey.

“If they looked at it, they would actually come out better due to a little bit of adversity. It’s actually healthy because no pathway to success is ever smooth, and it’s just part of the journey.

“It’s just making sure they’re fully confident to go out and perform how we want them to perform.”

Midfielder George Marsh should be back to full training by next week after returning from a broken bone in his foot.
